FMStream started as a streaming platform built for Lion FM 91.1 MHz at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. We set out to solve a simple problem: a radio station with thousands of loyal campus listeners, but no way to reach them online.
Building that platform, we realized the same infrastructure gap existed for hundreds of Nigerian FM stations — state broadcasters, campus radio, community stations, and private commercial stations — all with no digital presence, no listener app, and no way to monetise their audience beyond the FM frequency.
So we built FMStream as a platform. One infrastructure. Every station gets their own branded app, their own subdomain, their own analytics, and their own revenue tools — powered by the same battle-tested system underneath.
