What do I need to get started?+
Just your station name, contact email, and a stream URL (Icecast, SHOUTcast, or HLS). If you don't have a stream yet, our Pro plan includes managed streaming — we handle the entire infrastructure for you.
Do I need to be technical?+
Not at all. Setup takes under 10 minutes and requires zero coding. You upload your logo, set your colors, paste your stream URL, and you're live. We handle everything else.
Will I have my own branded app?+
Yes. Your station gets its own branded web app at yourname.fmstream.online with your logo, colors, and branding. Listeners see your station — not FMStream. Android and iOS native apps are available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
What about NBC licensing and COSON?+
FMStream provides the streaming infrastructure. You remain responsible for maintaining your NBC broadcast licence and any music licensing (COSON/MCSN) required for online streaming. We can point you to the right resources and contacts.
Can I use my own domain name?+
Yes. Pro and Enterprise plans support custom domains. For example, you could have listeners go to listen.yourstation.com.ng or stream.yourstation.ng — your own domain, fully pointing to your FMStream app.
How does billing work?+
Monthly subscription via Paystack — Nigerian cards, bank transfer, and USSD are all supported. No long-term contracts. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard with one click.
Can listeners use the app without signing in?+
Yes. Listeners can tune in as guests with no account required. Sign-in is only needed for features like song requests, premium subscriptions, and event ticket purchases.
Is my listener data secure?+
All data is stored on Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. iLLuSys LTD is the data processor; your station retains full ownership of your listener data.
What happens if my stream goes down?+
Your admin dashboard shows real-time stream health and uptime. If the stream drops, the listener app shows a friendly "off air" message and automatically retries the connection every 30 seconds.
Can I migrate from another platform?+
Yes. If you have an existing Icecast, SHOUTcast, or HLS stream from any host, just paste the URL into your FMStream admin settings and you're live within seconds. No migration downtime.
How do I monetise my station through FMStream?+
FMStream includes several revenue tools: direct banner advertising, audio in-stream ads (15/30/45/60 second slots), premium listener subscriptions via Paystack, and paid live event ticketing. You set the prices; FMStream handles the transactions.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes — all plans start with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to sign up. You can explore the full platform, set up your station, and go live before you're charged anything.
